La Organización de Solidaridad de los Pueblos de África, Asia y América Latina (OSPAAAL) ha denunciado con inequívoca firmeza la escalada intervencionista del imperialismo norteamericano y sus aliados contra Siria, desde el instante en que esta se desata hace ya más de dos años.
Resulta muy grave, por sus dramáticas consecuencias y por el precedente nefasto que establece, la tensa situación fabricada por parte de los Estados Unidos y sus aliados de la OTAN quienes, sin recato alguno, aprovecharon una situación interna que pudo ser encauzada y resuelta soberanamente por el pueblo sirio para elaborar pretextos y ejecutar una embestida militar contra Siria, que ha provocado destrucción y muerte, y cobrado la vida de miles de personas inocentes, entre los que se cuentan ancianos, mujeres y niños.
Las noticias de la inminencia de un ataque militar imperialista de gran escala nos ha movilizado más de una vez en el transcurso de estos más de dos años de criminal e impune hostilidad.
Una agresión de esa naturaleza contra Siria provocaría gravísimas consecuencias no sólo para su pueblo, sino también para otras naciones y pueblos del Medio Oriente y de todo el Tercer Mundo, quienes han tenido y tendrán siempre en la OSPAAAL una tribuna y trinchera para la lucha antiimperialista.
No puede tolerarse otra violación flagrante de los principios de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas y del Derecho Internacional, tantas veces violentados por las potencias imperialistas como ha sucedido anteriormente en Kosovo, Irak, Libia y Afganistán, cuyos peligros para la paz y la seguridad internacionales son absolutamente evidentes.
El Secretariado Ejecutivo de la OSPAAAL levanta nuevamente su voz para condenar todo intento por socavar la independencia, autodeterminación, soberanía e integridad territorial de Siria; al tiempo que reitera el sincero deseo de que pueda hallarse una pronta y definitiva solución política que ponga fin al cruento derramamiento de sangre, a la destrucción y al caos, con apego y respeto a los derechos nacionales del pueblo sirio.
¡No a la guerra y a la intervención imperialista!

OSPAAAL STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY
The Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL) has denounced with unequivocal firmness the interventionist escalade of the United States imperialism and its allies against Syria from the moment in which it was unleashed over two years ago.
The tense situation fabricated by the United States and its NATO allies is extremely serious because of its dramatic consequences. They have openly profited from an internal situation that could have been channeled and solved with sovereignty by the Syrian people to elaborate pretexts and carry out a military attack that has caused destruction and death, and cost the lives of thousands of innocent persons, among them elders, women and children.
The news of the imminence of a large scale imperialist military attack has mobilized us more than once during these more than two years of criminal and unpunished hostility.
An aggression of that nature against Syria would provoke extremely earnest consequences not only for its people but also for other nations and peoples of the Middle East and the entire Third World, who have had and will always have at OSPAAAL a tribune and a trench for the anti-imperialist struggle.
A new flagrant violation of the principles of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law cannot be tolerated. These principles have been violated numerous times by the imperialist powers, as previously occurred in Kosovo, Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan, causing absolutely evident danger to international peace and security.
The OSPAAAL Executive Secretariat again raises its voice to condemn every attempt to undermine the independence, self-determination, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria. At the same time, it reiterates the sincere wish that a prompt and definitive political solution may be found to put an end to the cruel blood spilling, destruction and chaos, in compliance and full respect with the national rights of the Syrian people.
NO to war and imperialist intervention!
